HEAR FOR YOURSELF AUDIO REVIEWS
How it works:
1. Each product review has a written description of its features and details.
2. An opinion by the author is given regarding its acoustic performance, ease of use, etc.
3.Technical Data is presented showing basic acoustic performance like Frequency Response, Distortion at normal listening levels, and an MLS based Waterfall set showing any unusual resonances or ringing.
4. 4 to 6 short musical cuts that allow you to experience the product with the settings adjusted for the best experience possible as determined by the author. These cuts will include the original music file (un-modified and un-altered except for being converted to an video file), and the same cut played and recorded using the speaker system being reviewed.
This allows you to get a feel for what the system will sound like before you buy it and take it home.
Disclaimer: It is impossible to completely and accurately duplicate a live listening experience over headphones. The countless number of variables present in equipment and environment can and will affect how things sound in a real life situation. For example, you can not duplicate the experience of a 5.1 cinema system by playing a recorded version over headphones. But, you can hear differences in frequency response, temporal balance, distortion, and resonances. Imaging and other subtle acoustic characteristics can not be adequately duplicated over a pair of headphones. Also, please remember that the sound card and headphones you use will also introduce their own flaws like coloration, temporal imbalance, distortion, etc.
Our goal is to provide you with a top level sense of what you can expect to hear.
Also, don't even think about playing these cuts over your smart phone speakers. Those tiny speakers are extremely limited in bandwidth and output capability, so don't even try!!! Basing a purchasing decision on a smart phone audio experience is simply stupid. Serious audio customers that use my website get the best results using good quality equipment.
